Stidhams step down from TWU

DENTON, Texas (June 21, 2018) – Texas Woman's University Director of Athletics Chalese Connors announced today that Head Softball Coach Genny Stidham and Assistant Softball Coach Jerod Stidham have resigned.

The duo joined TWU in August 2013 and led the Pioneers to the NCAA South Central Regional Tournament four times in five years, including a trip to Super Regionals in 2016, just the second appearance in program history.

Stidham recorded a milestone while in Denton with her 600th career victory April 21, 2017. Throughout her 21 years as a head coach, she has amassed an overall record of 633-396-4, including a 158-107-2 mark with the Pioneers.

"I am extremely thankful for everything Genny and Jerod brought to our softball program these past five years," states Connors. "They continued our winning tradition and kept us competitive on the national level. Genny is one of the fiercest coaches I've ever known. Her love for the game and for her student-athletes is palpable. I appreciate their contributions and wish them all the best with a grateful heart."

A national search will begin immediately to identify TWU's next head softball coach.
