DENTON, Texas (March 4, 2018) - Texas Woman's University posted a season-high 195.575 in a narrow victory over Iowa while recording team season-bests on vault and bars Sunday afternoon inside Kitty Magee Arena.

The Pioneers outscored the Hawkeyes by .050 to achieve the victory over the Division I program.
Brandi Lazarus,
Alyssa Kelly, and
Schyler Jones each notched individual top honors, as Lazarus won on vault with a 9.875, Kelly shared first place on beam with a 9.875, while Jones tied for first on floor with a 9.875 and was the best all-around performer with a 39.175.

The Pioneers registered their highest event score on vault with a 49.050 beginning with a 9.725 from
Erin Alderman and a 9.750 from Colee.
Megan Gentry scored a 9.800,
Mallory Moredock a 9.85, Lazarus a 9.875, and Jones a 9.775.

On bars, Lazarus had a 7.850 followed by a 9.725 from Jones. Colee and
Hunter Vincent each produced 9.775's, while Kelly tallied a 9.825, and
Bria Northrop finished with a 9.850 for a team total of 48.950.

Madison Dickson posted a 9.625 to lead TWU off on beam, Alderman scored a 9.750, and Lazarus had a 9.550. Kelly tied her career-high with a 9.875,
Mallory Moredock had a 9.700, and Jones recorded a 9.800 for a team score of 48.400.

Abbie Versemann notched a 9.675 on floor,
Bridgette Peterson had a 9.600, and Colee registered a 9.575. Alderman scored a 9.775, Moredock recorded a 9.850, and Jones anchored with a 9.875 to push the Pioneers to a team total 48.750 and nudge past the Hawkeyes.

It is fun seeing this team continue to improve and grow in their confidence as the year goes on. There is still room for improvement though, and we will continue working towards being an even stronger and more consistent team as the post season approaches."
