ST. CHARLES, Mo. (March 23, 2018) - Schyler Jones and Mallory Moredock each tied their career-highs on vault with a 9.900 at the Midwest Independent Conference Championships as Jones took home the all-around crown, but Texas Woman's University fell short of the league title with an overall score of 194.650 as host Lindenwood took first place with a team score of 195.225 Friday night inside Hyland Arena.
 
The Pioneers began the evening on floor with a 9.650 from Abigail Versemann, and Megan Gentry earned a 9.700 during her first showing in the event since 2015. Bria Northrop also made her season debut on floor and scored a 9.350, while Moredock totaled the second-highest total on the event with a 9.875, and Jones finished with a 9.850.
 
Hope Parkin made her season debut on vault with a 9.575, as Morgan Colee posted a 9.550, and Gentry had a 9.750. Moredock recorded a 9.675, Brandi Lazarus a 9.775, and Jones a 9.800.
 
TWU had a bye the next rotation before returning to bars. Lazarus led off with an 8.325 followed by a 9.625 from Colee, a 9.600 from Jones, and a 9.825 by Alyssa Kelly. Hunter Vincent scored a 9.725, and Northrop anchored for the Pioneers with a 9.750.
 
Madison Dickson led off on beam with a 9.525, and Lazarus tallied an 8.450. Vincent recorded a 9.775, and Moredock and Jones finished the meet for TWU on a high note with their 9.9's.


 
Head Coach Lisa Bowerman said, "Although we did not get the overall result we were looking for tonight, we had some incredible moments as we welcomed Bria back to floor since Nationals last year, and Megan for the first time since her freshman year. We also got to see Hope back in the vault lineup.
 
"We are looking forward to the next three weeks and to finishing the season with our very best at Nationals."
 
TWU will now wait to see if any Pioneers qualify for NCAA Regionals being held April 7.
