COLLEGE PAKR, Md. (Mar. 6) – For the second straight week the Pioneers scored a 48.000 or higher on all four events and finished with another season-high of 193.575 in a five-team meet at Maryland Sunday afternoon. 
 
George Washington won the meet with a 195.725 while the host Maryland also finished ahead of TWU in second place with a 194.700.  Pittsburgh placed fourth with a 193.475 and Yale rounded out with a 192.275.
 
The Pioneers opened the meet on beam and scored a 48.225.  Sophomore Schyler Jones led the team with a 9.775 while sophomore Taylor Vincent scored a 9.725.
 
TWU then moved to floor in the second rotation and scored a season-high 48.625 after three gymnasts posted a 9.700 or higher.  Freshman Erin Alderman led the Pioneers with a 9.825 while sophomore Alyssa Kelly scored a 9.775 and sophomore Mallory Moredock finished with a 9.700.
 
After a bye in the third rotation, TWU dominated vault in the fourth rotation.  Three gymnasts posted a 9.800 to help the Pioneers score another season-high 48.675.  Jones, junior Katie Simpson and freshman Megan Gentry all finished with a 9.800.
 
In the final rotation the Pioneers finished with a 48.050 on bars.  Kelly and Simpson both finished with a 9.775 to lead the team.
 
"We are excited about another season-high team score as well as season highs on floor and vault," said TWU head coach Lisa Bowerman.  "We are definitely moving in the right direction at the right time.  We still have more we can do and we are looking forward to being back home on Saturday to build on what we did today."
 
The Pioneers will return to action when they host their final home meet of the season on Saturday, Mar. 12.  TWU will welcome LSU, New Hampshire and Oregon State for a quad meet at 6:00 p.m. in Kitty Magee Arena.
