DENTON, Texas (April 21) – Texas Woman’s University gymnastics head coach Frank Kudlac announced the signing of Paisley Read (Roy, UT/Olympus School of Gymnastics) to a National Letter of Intent. She joins the Cochefski twins (Courtney and Tori) as members of the Pioneers' 2010 recruiting class.
Read has been a Level 10 USA Gymnastics (USAG) competitor for the past three seasons at Olympus School of Gymnastics in Sandy, Utah. She finished second in all-around at the Utah State Championships in 2008 and 2010 and third in 2009. Read took fifth in all-around at the Level 10 Region I Championships and has qualified for the 2010 Junior Olympic National Championships in Dallas on May 7-8. She also placed third in all-around at Vegas Cup and second on beam at the Nastia Liukin Cup. As a Level 9 competitor In 2007, Read finished second in the all-around and first on beam at the Utah State Championships.
Read is the valedictorian and the top-ranked individual in the Roy High School Class of 2010. She will receive the prestigious Presidential Scholarship at Texas Woman’s University.
“Paisley is the perfect fit for our program,” said TWU head coach Frank Kudlac. “She has the academic resume we were looking for and her gymnastics skills will help us be a stronger team next year. We are excited that Paisley chose to continue her education and gymnastics at TWU!”
