Three Pioneers selected All-Lone Star Conference

DENTON, Texas (March 2) – Three members of the TWU basketball team – sophomore Jessica Hanna, senior Megan Hashman, and junior Kayla Weaver – were selected to the 2010 All-Lone Star Conference North Division. Hanna earned first team honor while Hashman was selected to the second team and Weaver received honorable mention.
Hanna earned the honor for the second straight season. She was a honorable mention in 2009. Hanna started all 26 games for the Pioneers and led the team with 14.3 points per game, 46 steals and 15 blocks. She was also the team leaders in three-point field goals mad with 50. Hanna led the team in scoring in 10 games this season.
Hashman played in all 26 games while making 25 starts. She is second on the team in scoring with 13.3 points per game and third in rebounding with 4.4 rebounds per game. Hashman also recorded 33 steals and shot 72.8 percent from the free-throw line. She led the team in scoring in seven games this season.
Weaver played in 25 games with 21 starts. She led the team in rebounds (7.2 rpg) and shooting percentage (.524). Weaver is third on the team in scoring with 12.7 points per game and recorded six double-doubles this season. She led the team in scoring and rebounding against conference foes averaging 15.9 points and 9.0 rebounds.
The Pioneers advanced to the 2010 Lone Star Conference Tournament for the first time since 2006. The tournament will be held in Bartlesville, OK on March 4-7. TWU will face Tarleton State on Thursday at noon.
