Callahan named Lone Star Conference Hitter of the Week

DENTON, Texas (March 16) – Texas Woman’s University senior outfielder Billie Callahan has been named the Lone Star Conference South Division Hitter of the Week for the week of March 8-14. The weekly award is the first for Callahan this season and second of her four-year career.
Callahan led all TWU players with a .778 batting average in the Pioneers' three-game series against #16 West Texas A&M this past weekend. She reached base in eight of here 10 plate appearances during the series and drove in three runs including the tying run in a 4-3 T-Dub win on Saturday. Callahan also posted .800 on-base percentage and .889 slugging percentage.
For the season, Callahan is now batting .361 with seven RBI, 12 runs, and a team-best two triples. Callahan also has a .459 slugging percentage and a .391 on base percentage.
TWU will hit the road for a three-game LSC South Division series at Abilene Christian this Friday and Saturday, Mar. 19 and 20. The Pioneers will play a doubleheader against ACU on Friday at 2:00 and 4:00 p.m. and a single game on Saturday at Noon.
