DAVIS, Calif. (March 14) – The Texas Woman’s University gymnastics team finished second with a score of 192.825 at a triangular with UC-Davis and California on Sunday afternoon. The host team, UC-Davis, won the meet with a score of 194.600 and Cal finished third with 190.575.
The Pioneers trailed both Cal and UC-Davis going into the final rotation. On their last event, TWU posted four of the meets top five scores on vault to record a season-high 48.750 to finish second in the overall team standings. Sophomore
Marcella Fallon was the Pioneers' top performer on vault finishing second with a career-high 9.825.

Rashonda Cannie tied for first on bars with 9.725 and placed second in all-around with 38.900. She also led TWU on floor with a 9.725. Freshman
Brittany Johnson finished third on both bars and beam with 9.700 and 9.775 respectively. She was the top Pioneer on beam and posted an all-around score of 38.775 to tie for third.
“We performed much better than Friday (at Sacramento State),” said TWU head coach Frank Kudlac. “Posted descent scores on our first three events - bars, beam, and floor. I'm proud of the girls for scoring a season-high on vault to finish second in the meet.”
The Pioneers will wrap-up their 2010 regular season with a home meet on Friday, Mar. 19, at 7:00 p.m. in a dual against New Hampshire.
“New Hampshire is a very good team and we are looking forward to the meet on our senior day,” Kudlac said. “We are very excited about competing in our home facility for the our next three meets - vs. New Hampshire, then the 2010 MIC Championships and the 2010 USA Gymnastics Collegiate National Championships.”
