DALLAS, Texas (Sept. 2) – The Pioneers posted ten team blocks including five solo blocks but it wasn’t enough as they fell to the host Dallas Baptist in three sets, 25-22, 25-21, and 27-25.

Junior Alyson Harlan led the team with 11 kills and added nine digs. She continues to be the force on offense for the Pioneers. Harlan led the team in kills in three of the four games this season. Junior Kendra Coulson had a team best 10 digs and senior Jessica Crow posted 24 assists.

“Once again our defense was good but we are still trying to find our offense,” said TWU head coach Shelly Barberee. “We led in both second and third set but we had too many hitting errors. Right now our defense is playing well and once we find the rhythm on hitting we will be fine.”

The Pioneers (1-4) will make their home debut on Sept. 4-5 when they host the 2009 TWU Tournament. The Pioneers will take on Southern Arkansas at 1:30 p.m. and #10 Washburn at 6:30 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 4 and wrap-up the tournament with UT-Permian Basin at Noon and Harding at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 5.
