Katelyn Osborne added seven kills and junior
Launa McClung chipped in six kills.
“We had some good highlights in the game but it did not go together all at the same time,” said TWU head coach Shelly Barberee. “We were in the game in set one and had the lead in set two but fell apart at the end.”
In the second game, McClung led the Pioneer attack with 11 kills and Harlan added seven kills and 12 digs. Junior
Kendra Coulson finished with a game-high 17 digs.
“We really needed the second game to pick our momentum back up,” said Barberee. “We played as a team in this game. Launa played a great game and Kendra’s passing was very good today. Overall I am pleased with 1-1 on the opening day.”
The Pioneers (1-1) will wrap up the tournament on Saturday, Aug. 29, against the host Colorado-Colorado Spring at 12:30 p.m. (MT) and #25 Wayne State at 5:00 p.m. (MT).
