Three Pioneers receive All-Lone Star Conference recognition
DENTON, Texas (November 11) – Three members of the Texas Woman’s University volleyball squad - senior setter Jessica Crow, junior outside hitter Alyson Harlan, and junior libero Kendra Coulson - have been selected for the 2009 All-Lone Star Conference volleyball team. Crow and Harlan were second team picks while Coulson garnered honorable mention recognition.

The All-LSC honor is the second for Crow in her illustrious TWU volleyball career. She was an honorable mention choice in 2007. A four-year starter, Crow leads the 2009 Pioneer team with 693 assists and 6.54 assists per game. She posted 13 double-doubles this season and a career-high 22 digs on two separate occasions. Crow recorded over 3,400 assists and 960 digs in four years at TWU.

The All-Conference honor is the first Harlan. She leads the Pioneers this season with 268 kills, 2.63 kills per game, 38 service aces and 327.5 points and is second on the roster with 299 digs. Harlan has eight double-doubles this season and posted a career-high 24 kills and 20 digs in a five-set win over Southeastern Oklahoma on Nov. 5th. 

Coulson emerged this season as one of the top defensive players in the entire Lone Star Conference. She led all TWU players with 628 serve receptions, 493 digs, and 4.32 digs per set.

The Pioneers advanced to the 2009 Lone Star Conference Tournament for the seventh consecutive season and 12th overall. The tournament will be held Nov. 12-14 at West Texas A&M in Canyon, Texas. The sixth-seeded Pioneers will open tournament play with a quarterfinal game against the third-seeded Angelo State Rambelles this Thursday (Nov. 12) at noon.
