Harlan named LSC Volleyball Offensive Player of the Week
DENTON, Texas (Nov. 10) – Texas Woman’s University junior outside hitter Alyson Harlan has been named Lone Star Conference Volleyball Offensive Player of the Week for the week of Nov. 3-10. The player of the week award is the second for Harlan in her TWU career.

A junior from Payne Springs, Texas, Harlan helped the Pioneers to 2-0 record last week and clinch a spot in the Lone Star Conference Tournament for seventh consecutive season and 12th time overall. She averaged 4.75 kills, 3.38 digs, 3.0 service aces and 23.5 points in the two games combined. Harlan posted a team-high 24 kills and 20 digs in a five-set victory over Southeastern Oklahoma on Nov. 5th and then added a team-high 14 kills in a three-set win against East Central on Nov. 7th. 

For the season, Harlan is the Pioneers' team leader in kills (268), service aces (38), and points (327.5) and is second in digs (299). She also has eight double-doubles to her credit this season.

TWU is the sixth seed in the 2009 LSC tournament and will face No. 3 Angelo State in a quarterfinal game on Thursday, Nov. 12, at noon in Canyon, Texas.
