SAN ANGELO, Texas (Oct. 10) – Texas Woman’s University volleyball team defeated Angelo State in three sets, 25-16, 26-24, and 25-22, at Stephens Arena Saturday afternoon. Freshman
Amanda Hall led the Pioneers with 10 kills.
In set-one, TWU had 13 kills and just one error on 28 attacks for .429 hitting percentage and cruised to a nine-point victory. Both team traded points in the second set until the Rambelles took a 24-22 lead. The Pioneers answered with three straight points and an attack error by Angelo State gave TWU a 26-24 victory. In the third-set the Pioneers jumped out to a 7-0 lead and held on to a 25-22 win.
Hall finished with 10 kills and two errors on 21 attacks for a .381 hitting percentage. Junior
LyGene' Traylor and sophomore
Katelyn Osborne each had seven kills. Senior
Jessica Crow led the Pioneers with 29 assists and junior
Kendra Coulson had a game-high 10 digs.
The Pioneers improved their overall record to 13-11 and evened their Lone Star Conference record at 3-3. TWU will return to action on Wednesday, Oct. 14 at 7:00 p.m. against Texas A&M-Commerce at Kitty Magee Arena.
